SeoulBites is a food guide for international travelers who love Korean culture. Every guide answers the same practical questions: where exactly the place is, how to get there by subway, what to order, roughly what it costs, and why locals (or K-drama fans) care about it.
What we cover
- Seoul Restaurants: traditional markets, food alleys and long-running local restaurants in Seoul (Gwangjang, Mangwon, Tongin, Noryangjin and more).
- Cafes & Desserts: neighborhood cafe guides such as Ikseon-dong and Seongsu-dong.
- K-Drama & Celebrity Spots: restaurants and cafes that appear in K-dramas or are linked to K-pop idols, with what is actually still open.
- Beyond Seoul: food-focused day trips and regional guides (Busan, Jeju, Gyeongju, Jeonju, Gangneung, Sokcho and others).
Who runs SeoulBites
SeoulBites is run by Jay, a Korean who has spent many years living and working abroad and is used to explaining Korean food to foreign friends and colleagues. It is an independent, one-person project, not an official tourism site.
How each guide is made
- Guides are research-based. Facts such as addresses, opening hours, prices and directions are cross-checked against official sources (Korea Tourism Organization / VisitKorea, Seoul city sites, and the restaurant’s own channels or map listings) and linked in the post.
- We do not claim to have eaten at every place we write about. When a guide is based on research rather than a personal visit, the text does not pretend otherwise.
- Hours and prices in Korea change often. Each guide shows the date it was published or last checked, so please confirm hours on a map app before you go.
- Photos come from Wikimedia Commons or other openly licensed sources and every photo has a visible credit. When a photo shows a general example rather than the exact restaurant, the caption says so.
- AI tools help with research and drafting. Every guide is checked against the sources linked in it before publishing.
Independence and corrections
SeoulBites is not affiliated with the restaurants, broadcasters or agencies mentioned, and we do not accept payment for coverage. If ads or affiliate links appear on this site, they are clearly disclosed. Spotted something out of date or a place that has closed? Please tell us through the Contact page and we will update the guide. You can read how visitor data is handled in our Privacy Policy.
